In 2004 the
Samaritan Center was able to purchase enough school supplies on top of
those donated, to provide over 800 children with everything they needed to
get off to a great start for the school year.
It’s extremely
important for our kids to have what they need for school. Many of our
clients tell us how their children not only don’t have their own room but
some even sleep on the floor. They’re embarrassed to have friends over
and some even make up stories about where they live. We do our best to
change these situations but as you know, we can only do so much, but when
it comes to the classroom, all things should be and can be equal.
Businesses and
individuals interested in helping meet the need may contact the Samaritan Center at 634-7776.
The Samaritan
Center believes education is the most important key to escaping poverty
and we are committed to promoting education to the greatest extent
possible.
