Scouts deliver 10-ton gift

Just over 10 tons of canned goods and other foods landed in the Samaritan Center's food pantries Saturday.

With the help of many in the community, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts gathered the 20,164 pounds of food for the Jefferson City-based charity.

“It helps the community by giving food to other people,” said Cub Scout Nathan Wright, 8.
